Where should Fans Main focus be Court Room or Field of Play?

This has been an ongoing saga for a while now and it feels like everyday something new is going on. McCourt going on TV and Radio giving hot air, MLB taking over, Chapter 11. It goes on and on and the fans are getting tired of it. The one thing that I’ve noticed is the drop off in attendance which is due to the fans boycotting games refusing to give McCourt any of their money. As of late to me it seems like almost a lot of focus have been going into whether McCourt will sell the team and MLB trying to get McCourt out rather than games or guys on the field. This week its been something else. Dodgers have a thrilling victory…Next day the Dodgers dominated the news but not cause of the victory. Because they filed for Chapter 11 bankrupcy. Kershaw won NL player of the year and look what little attention that got. Seemed like after the 15-0 win we got a bit of a break from it only for the next day back to Ch 11 and McCourt. Every moment I start to wonder where should our main focus be? on the Field or the Front Office Drama?

Some fans make a mention of the McCourt issue and then talk about the game and what we can do to turn this around while others talk about the McCourt issue then mins before Gametime they’re about the game then back to McCourt issues. Well I can’t speak for the Millions of Dodger fans but my focus is on the field rather than court room. Our Boys in Blue are out on the field playing in almost a half empty stadium worried about turning it around rather than Ownership and If that’s where their focus is then I’m right with them. Im never a with Court room or Ownership smarts but I’m aware McCourt’s duchebagary or poor selfish acts for his personal interest rather than the teams but if the Dodgers will keep on playing then I will keep on cheering and give them my focus and attend games. Now I know others can’t bring themselves to give McCourt any of their money and I can respect that but I refuse to be one of the fans who Boycott the team I grew up loving. I know I turn my attention to whats going on but I also know that I have to let MLB and Bud Selig do the fighting for me to release the Dodgers from an evil, hated, money hungry, Selfish owner in Frank McCourt. I know that what goes on in the court room doesn’t have effect on How many runs our Dodgers get in a Game and it shouldn’t have any affect on my ability to be mad when we lose or happy when we win.

Yes Frank McCourt is a very BAD owner and I do know he will be gone but if the Dodgers aren’t letting it bother them on the field then I will continue to give them my focus. Now I’m not saying their isn’t a way to have an effect on ownership because the Sacramento Kings taught me a valuable lesson in it but what I’m saying is that we are fans of the game of baseball..Not the politics of front office ownership and MLB issues and maybe our boys in blue should get A lot of the attention of cheering them on constantly before during and after the game to give them positive vibes to turning this around rather than putting majority or 60% of it on the MLB/Frank McCourt issue. Everyone has their own ways of worrying and I’m not going to tell you because you are your own person but I alway go back to my road trip for Opening day with my dad. We didn’t spend that money just to see McCourt or hear about Ownership issues..We spent that money to see our Dodger Players play on the field.

Dodgers man handling the Twins 15-0: What this ment to the Fans

On a day where is seemed like the dark days were even darker the Dodgers gave us a reminder why we love this team. Yesterday Morning news broke that the Dodgers filed for Chapter 11 Bankrupcy thanks to Frank McCourt. Seemed like everyone wanted to talk about the Frank McCourt issue over the Dodgers thrilling win over the Anaheim Angels and Kershaw’s back to back Complete Games. It also seemed like everyone pretty much forgot about the game that night as well. All the talks and jokes were on Chapter 11 Bankrupsy and so on. Well lets fast foward to the game wondering if the Dodgers will even score runs seeing they’ve struggled alot but that night the Dodgers play washed away all the pain.  The Dodgers managed to have a field day in Target Field scoring 15 runs, getting 25 Base hits and All but Ethier got an RBI. Trent Oeltjen and Tony Gwynn had big games, Casey Blake got a HR, and Matt Kemp…..Was Matt Kemp. The players weren’t worried about whats going on and they know thats not their job to. They just played baseball.

After the game I saw on my twitter account all the Dodger fans having a ball with this and it was a good thing to see. As a Dodger fan that was a well needed pick me up after all the crap that had nothing to do with Baseball at all but as I sat there I wondered what did this win mean to the Fans. Well I can’t speak for everyone but to me it felt great because when I see games its always an escape from the crap that has nothing to do with the game on the field but this win FURTHER showed that Baseball is played on a field and not a court room or anything. I also hope its the start of something new with the Dodgers. I know everyone will say this was the Dodgers taking out their frustraitons out on the Twins with the McCourt issue and Bankruptsy but it wasn’t It was the Dodgers finally playing great baseball getting a well needed blow out. Thats all. Players are going to worry about how to turn this thing around instead of McCourt, MLB, or anything most of us worry about.

In the end This was something that I hope get Dodger fans spirits up and minds off this whole drama for a while. Lets just hope the Dodgers keep this up on the twins. One final message to my Fellow Dodger Fans: No matter the situation, Record, or any circumstance NEVER be emberassedto be a Dodger Fan and NEVER turn your back on the Team that you loved for oh so long, The Past and Present players that we adored, and the Memories that was brought to you. WE ARE the most Loyal Fan Base in the MLB and lets continue to show why no other fan base can EVER touch the Los Angeles Dodgers fan base!

This is a very simple game...

You throw the ball. You catch the ball. You hit the ball...Of course, baseball fans know that this line from Bull Durham is far from true, part of the humor of the movie and a huge part of the fun of the game. This blog is a space to talk about baseball, being a baseball fan, all of those things that make the game fun and the Angels, because they make baseball fun for me.
