September

If LA wants the Post-Season then September has to be their Month

Through the month of August the Dodgers have really struggled at home and against the NL West. After sweeping the Cubs in the first series of the month the Dodgers have dropped series to Colorado, San Francisco, and the last two games of the month vs Arizona at home as well as lose the series vs Colorado at Coors Field but it wasn’t ALL bad as the Dodgers went 7-3 in their Road trip in Miami, Pittsburgh, and Atlanta and managed to grab Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Nick Punto, and Carl Crawford from Boston but as of today the Boys in Blue are currently 4.5 Games behind the Hated Giants in the NL West and 0.5 games behind the St Louis Cardnials in the Wild Card. With August over LA hits the final streatch of the season where they must get it together which means Have a Winning month if they want to make it to the post-season. It won’t be easy for the Dodgers as they must win with a tough september schedule with games at Washington San Francisco, and Cinncinatti as well as a tough 4 game series series with the Cardinals at home.

The Dodgers have want to make playoffs and turn it around but they have to DO IT and not talk about it. That means needing players like Kemp, Gonzalez, and Victorino to break out of the slump that they are currently in and help this team out. The bullpen and Starting pitching also has to do their job as well to make life easier for the Dodgers if they want the Playoffs. Another thing LA MUST MUST do is take advantage of everything. If they play the likes of San Deigo then they have to Beat up on the weak teams and not play down to their level. Beat the playoff teams on the road and ride that momentum on instead of fading off like they did last month.  That won’t fly in September and will cost them a playoff spot. These things the Dodgers have to do if they want to make the playoffs.

I talked about if the Dodgers can make the playoffs and this month they must get together and have the month of their careers. 4.5 behind the Giants in the NL West with a difficult schedule is a challenging thing to do if they want to win the west but they can beat the Giants in the final remaining 6 Games they have with them and help themselves. They can also reach the wild card from the Cardinals but that would mean beating STL and getting some help as well as helping themselves as well. Playoffs is with-in reach but its up to the Dodgers to reach it and they can do it in the month of September.

This is a very simple game...

You throw the ball. You catch the ball. You hit the ball...Of course, baseball fans know that this line from Bull Durham is far from true, part of the humor of the movie and a huge part of the fun of the game. This blog is a space to talk about baseball, being a baseball fan, all of those things that make the game fun and the Angels, because they make baseball fun for me.
